You can set Link Whisper to ignore links with specific URLs or anchor texts from the settings.

To ignore a link by anchor text, copy the anchor text of the link then head to the Link Whisper settings.

Inside the settings, under the “Content Ignoring” tab, is a field called “Links to Ignore Clicks on”. Paste the anchor text of the link you want the Click Tracking to ignore in this field. If you want to ignore multiple different anchors, enter them in their own lines in the field.

With the anchor text ignored, all clicks on links with the same text will be ignored.

Ignoring anchor text is an exact-match process. So clicks on links with anchor texts of “best regular podcast episodes” won’t be ignored. Also, if the anchor is translated into a different language, the ignoring will not work.

You can also ignore clicks on links based on the link’s URL. To do this, copy the URL of the link and head to the Link Whisper settings.

Once again, under the “Content Ignoring” tab, enter the link’s URL in the “Links to Ignore Clicks on” field.

You can have a mixture of ignored anchors and URLs in the field, Link Whisper will understand which is which and won’t have a problem with it.

With the URL ignored, all clicks on links with the same URL will be ignored by the Click Tracking. Ignoring by URL has the advantage of not being affected by page translations. So when the page is translated into different languages by a visitor’s browser, all clicks on the link will be ignored.
