To use the new AI-Powered Outbound Suggestions, you will need to do the following:

1. Make sure you’ve upgraded to Link Whisper’s 2.5.8 version.

2. Make sure that you have an active and paid-up OpenAI key and that OpenAI is integrated with Link Whisper.

We explain how to do this right here.

3. The next step is to complete the AI Relation Analysis.

Go to Link Whisper in your sidebar, then to Settings, and then to AI Settings.

Where it says AI Processing Methods to Perform on the left, toggle the button that says AI Relation Analysis.

Farther down the page, where it says Process AI Data, click on the button beside it that says Begin Processing Data, and then hit Begin again when the window appears.

What’s happening: During the AI Relation Analysis, Link Whisper scans your site to determine what each post is about, and we need that information to determine which sentences are related to what posts.

4. Once the scan is complete, you can continue to set up the AI feature. Simply toggle the Use AI Powered Suggestions box on and you’re ready to go!

5. To use the AI-Powered Suggestions, just open the post editing screen as you usually would, and Link Whisper will do the rest.

Choose an article that you want to build internal links to.

Scroll down to the suggestion area and instead of the usual processing suggestions, you should see a blue bar that says Using AI to Evaluate Post Content.

This process may take a bit longer than usual to process the suggestions since there are a lot of calculations that need to be performed.

Also, every new post that Link Whisper needs to process will incur a small processing charge from OpenAI. For a post of 3,000 words, this usually comes out to about $0.003.

If the process runs out of time or the OpenAI account runs out of money, Link Whisper will switch to a keyword-based method of building the suggested anchors.

6. When the processing is complete, Link Whisper will show you its list of AI-selected suggestions along with information about how strong of a suggestion the AI thinks it’s made.

The main indicator is the Sentence Match AI Score

This is the AI’s assessment of how strong of a suggestion it thinks the sentence is for the target post. Since it’s measuring the sentence itself, it is able to identify viable sentences that would be missed by normal link scans.

The other indicator is the Post Match AI Score listing.

This tells us how related the current post is to the target post, and can tell us if the suggestion is reaching outside of the current topic cluster and into another one.

Doing this isn’t necessarily negative, but if you’re trying to maintain a content silo structure, you may wish to avoid this.

In addition to the data indicators, we’ve updated the filtering and sorting options so you can quickly filter the suggestions based on these new AI metrics.

If, at any time, you want to turn off the AI Powered Suggestions, just toggle the button off and click on Regenerate Suggestions, and you will return to Link Whisper’s traditional keyword-based method.

7. To be able to use the new AI Anchor Building:

To enjoy the benefits of this feature, you don’t have to activate anything as it’s bundled in with Link Whisper’s AI-powered Suggestions! Just turn on the AI-Powered Suggestions and Link Whisper will automatically use the AI Anchor Building to create precise and focused anchors for your suggestions.

If for any reason you don’t want to use the AI Anchor Building, you can turn it off from the Link Whisper Settings. Just go to the Settings, and under the AI Settings tab, toggle “ON” the option to “Disable AI Anchor Building.”

How it works: This function uses ChatGPT to select words from sentences that we’ve determined are related to other posts on your site.

Say for example, you have a sentence that has 20 or 25 words in it, what this new feature will do is give the full sentence to ChatGPT and tell it about the post. Then, the feature asks ChatGPT to use its intelligence to make the most direct and concise anchor possible for the sentence.

This makes the anchor text shorter, more natural, and more semantically correct.

If you have this feature on, you don’t need to do anything. The anchor texts suggested in the Link Whisper section of your post will be powered by AI.
